From 1979 to 1983 Renée Strecker studied at the Berlin University of the Arts and was a master student of Prof. Karl Oppermann. In 1986 she received the studio scholarship of the Karl Hofer Gesellschaft, Berlin - with the award of the studio prize in 1990. In 1985 she founded the Berlin painter group "Kobalt" and organized regular group exhibitions. 2001 Scholarship of the Office of the Federal President - with later purchase of works by the German Bundestag. Renée Strecker lives and works in Berlin and Alicudi, Liparic Islands. The artist has been associated with Italy and the Aeolian Islands off Sicily since her childhood and captures the natural phenomena in the landscape. Plant particles, sand and other natural materials can be discovered in her paintings.
