The sculptor and painter Karlheinz Oswald, born in Worms in 1958, has been internationally present with his works in exhibitions for three decades. 1981-1990 studies of fine arts, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, 1984 First bronze castings of portraits, figures and reliefs, 1986 Gutenberg scholarship of the city of Mainz, 1988 Beginning of the dancer pictures and sculptures Mainz city printers, 1996 Working stay and exhibition at the ballet of the German State Opera Unter den Linden, 2000 dancer pictures and dancer sculptures at the ballet of the Mainz State Theater. Since the beginning of his artistic work, sculpture has been the main focus of his work, both in the sacred and public spheres (2005 Bonifatius figure for Pope Benedict XVI, Rome). Oswald is also known for his portraits, of which he has made more than 100 over the years, among others of Cardinal Volk and Cardinal Lehmann as well as the former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl. Karlheinz Oswald lives and works in Switzerland.
