The street artist YORKAR from Wiesbaden is self-taught. At the age of 12 he already identified with the local hip hop scene, sprayed graffiti and has been part of the urban subculture ever since. Yorkar is known especially among the younger generation through his involvement in the Kreativfabrik / Skatehalle am Schlachthof as well as his art courses for children and young people in the "Children and Youth Gallery" of the city of Wiesbaden. Since 1994 Yorkar runs his studio in the communication and cultural center Schlachthof. In Wiesbaden and Mainz, his large-scale murals and graffiti, such as the "Deportation Memorial" at the Schlachthof (2010) or the portrait of "Johannes Gutenberg" at Haus Mainusch in Mainz, are well known. Since 1998 Yorkar participates in various solo and group exhibitions, makes commissioned works for private individuals, municipalities and companies.
